Original Valencia club/federation match-week poster for the Fairs Cup tie at Campo de Mestalla, printed with the period sponsors. Valencia had lost the first leg 4–0 in Lisbon and launched a furious comeback at Mestalla. Goals from Pep Claramunt (19'), Francisco Blayet (31' & 73') and Juan Cruz Sol (87') made it 4–0 on the night and forced extra-time, before Chico Faria (104') struck for Sporting to tip the tie back the Portuguese side’s way.

Line-ups featured Valencia stalwarts Waldo Machado, Fernando Ansola, Paquito, Claramunt, Juan Cruz Sol, and for Sporting the likes of Damas, Pedro Gomes, Marinho and Chico Faria.
