Pasquale Luiso was Vicenza’s focal point in attack in the late 1990s: signed in 1996, he led the line under Francesco Guidolin as the club won the 1996–97 Coppa Italia and then reached the 1997–98 Cup Winners’ Cup semi-final, finishing that European campaign as the competition’s top scorer. A direct, penalty-box striker known as “Il Toro di Sora,” he provided goals and a physical outlet during Vicenza’s peak years before moving on to Piacenza.
