Juventus topped Group C unbeaten (5–1–0, goals 11–1), with Peruzzi keeping clean sheets in both ties against Manchester United. In the knockouts he anchored a 3–1 aggregate win over Rosenborg, then a commanding semi-final against Ajax to reach a second straight final. Per Opta-style tallies, he logged 5 clean sheets in 9 UCL matches (best single-season mark of his European career), before the Munich final where Dortmund won 3–1.  Domestically, Juve still finished the year as Serie A champions, underscoring Peruzzi’s status as one of the most important keepers of the 90's.
