A left-back, Orlando had already collected major honours before arriving in Florence, having won the 1993–94 Serie A title and the 1993–94 UEFA Champions League with Milan, then the 1994–95 Serie A title with Juventus—a rare distinction that made him one of the few players to win back-to-back league titles with two different clubs. At Fiorentina he was more of a rotational option than a regular starter, but he was still part of one of the club’s strongest mid-1990s sides
