Ciro Ferrara was Juventus’s senior centre-back in 1998–99, partnering mainly Mark Iuliano as injuries and a mid-season coaching change disrupted the team. Juventus finished 7th in Serie A but reached the Champions League semi-finals, where Manchester United knocked them out.
