2022/23 saw the Toffees battle for Premier League survival once again with Frank Lampard being replaced by Sean Dyche in January in attempt to stave off relegation. The new manager did manage to steer the club to safety, eventually finishing 17th. Winger Dwight McNeil was the clubs top scorer with 7 goals in all competitions.
