2022/23 saw Bordeaux compete in Ligue 2 for the first time in 30 years following their relegation the previous season. Les Girondins finished 3rd, missing out on promotion after losing their last 2 games of the season. Striker Josh Maja was the team's top scorer with 17 goals in all competitions.
