We countdown the ten most popular shirts uploaded to our app this year.
With well over 20,000 shirts uploaded to Showboat since the summer of 2025, the app has become a home for collectors of football shirts. They can store and categorise all of their shirts in one place, get them valued by our team of experts (completely free of charge, by the way), create shortlists of grails they'd like to add, read in-depth articles on the shirt game and lots more. We're adding new features every week so if you'd like to be a part of a thriving community then you can join in here.
10. FC Barcelona 2019-20 (Third Shirt)
A shirt that was instantly pegged as a future classic by anyone with eyes, this became one of the most collected shirts of that particular season. It was fuelled by a new burgeoning number of new shirt collectors who entered the space during COVID. The shirt hasn't quite become the high-ticket item many suspected due to the sheer numbers it was bought in, but is still is a cracking number. Especially in long sleeves.

9. Manchester United 2022-23 (Home Shirt)
Another incredibly popular modern shirt that was destined for cult status as soon as it was released. After a series of dud shirt sponsors, United finally landed upon a front-of-shirt partner who weren't grim but, as these things often go, it didn't last long and Snapdragon swooped in. Still, this one is a worthy addition to any wardrobe and if you grab it in long sleeves, you're onto a winner, especially with that collar.

8. Ajax Amsterdam 2019-20 (Third Shirt)
Another COVID shirt that blew up during lockdown when every man and his dog started shirt collecting. This one, though, has a lovely backstory. Since 2008, Ajax fans have been heard singing the Bob Marley track ‘Three Little Birds’ on their travels around Europe, embracing and adopting it as their unofficial anthem. The combination of Caribbean colours caught the eye and it remains a shirt that has gone up in value since its release. Expect this to be worth more than a few bob in five years time.

7. Liverpool 2019-20 (Home Shirt)
You might be sensing a theme by now. Any shirt that was deemed remotely stylish during COVID was hoovered up by the masses due to either boredom, shirt collecting being a fad, or in the hope it would rise in value. Whilst not every shirt took off in value, many mostly held theirs and a few skyrocketed. This didn't quite hit the heights of others due to Liverpool being massive and supply never being scarce but it remains a symbol of the time when football shirts really did become an asset class.

6. Borussia Dortmund 1996-97 (Home Shirt)
Now we're talking. A Drake Ramberg classic here and a throwback to our favourite era of football shirts. A baggy fit, a whopping collar, neon colours and an array of logos plastered all over the front. It is achingly 90s and it belongs in any serious collectors Showboat account. It's also the shirt the club wore to lift the Champions League trophy.

5. AS ROMA 2023-24 (Home Shirt)
Now, this one is a slight surprise but if every football page on the internet is telling you something is going to be the next big thing then maybe it shouldn't come as surprise when tens of thousands of people listen and buy it. That hype also had a lot to do with the fact that when Roma dropped this, they did so without a kit sponsor and everyone thought the shirt was a throwback. Turns out the first team wore it featuring a sloppy Qatar sponsor. Roma's original home shirt from the 23/24 season is nice enough, of course. But a collectors item? We're not totally sure. Let's wait and see how kind history is to this one.

4. Arsenal 1991-93 (Away Shirt)
A bonafide cult classic. The ‘Bruised Banana’ shirt, worn by club legends like Tony Adams, Ian Wright and David Rocastle is, without doubt, one of the most iconic shirts in football history and we were thrilled to see it uploaded in such great numbers to the Showboat app this year. It's a telling indicator that the collectors on the platform are both serious and have great taste.

3. Borussia Dortmund 1995-96 (Home Shirt)
The second entry from Dortmund's golden period of football and fashion. Whilst they didn't win the Champions League in this shirt, it's undoubtedly the better shirt than the other Dortmund entry in this top ten. It's also more iconic. Which just goes to show that when it comes to shirt collecting, much like life, winning isn't everything. Although they did win the Bunesliga in it, so sod that.

2. Bayern Munich 1995-97 (Home Shirt)
Trust Bayern to pip their German rivals at the death. The Bayern shirt is certainly not as outlandish as their Dortmund counterparts but it is, perhaps, a touch more stylish. The Adidas-Opal combination is one of football's great pairings. It was worn by the club over two seasons that included winning the Bundesliga and the UEFA Cup. Lothar Matthäus and Jurgen Klinsmann helped make this a classic, too.

1. Argentina 2022/23 (Home Shirt)
The first international jersey to make our Top 10 comes in at number one with a bullet. The shirt was widely heralded as a classic upon its release but it became more than just a football shirt when Argentina and, more specifically, Lionel Messi won the World Cup. Such is Messi's standing in the game that almost everyone who wasn't French (or Portuguese) was willing him on to lift the only trophy to evade him and cement his legacy as the best of all time. Once Messi did that, this shirt became tied to that moment and sold out almost everywhere. A must for every modern shirt collector.
