Fiorentina 1993–94 Home Shirt | Lotto | Serie B | 7UP Sponsor
Few clubs carried themselves through adversity quite like Fiorentina in the early 1990s. Relegated from Serie A in 1993, the club entered the following season determined to return immediately. Their shirt that year, produced by Lotto and featuring the unmistakable 7UP sponsor, became one of the most distinctive kits of the decade.
While many clubs emerging from relegation adopt a low profile, Fiorentina did the opposite. The deep purple shirt, paired with the bright green sponsor, felt unapologetically bold. Worn by Gabriel Batistuta as he continued his rise into one of Europe’s most feared strikers, the kit quickly became inseparable from the club’s journey back to the top flight.

The Season
The 1993–94 campaign saw Fiorentina competing in Serie B following a shock relegation the previous year. Despite the drop, the club retained a squad capable of challenging for promotion, with Gabriel Batistuta continuing to lead the line.
Batistuta scored prolifically throughout the season, becoming the focal point of a side determined to restore the club’s place in Serie A. Fiorentina ultimately secured promotion, ensuring the stay in the second division lasted only a single year.
The season reinforced Batistuta’s growing legend in Florence and cemented the purple shirt as one of Italian football’s most recognisable symbols.

Why This Shirt Matters
Football history often remembers the champions, but shirts like Fiorentina’s 7UP kit tell a different story. Worn during a season spent outside the top division, the shirt nevertheless captured the imagination of supporters across Italy.
The combination of Fiorentina’s distinctive purple identity, Batistuta’s goals and the unusual sponsor created a kit that still feels unmistakably tied to the aesthetic of 1990s Italian football.
It remains one of the defining shirts of the golden age of Serie A design.
