With the World Cup semi-finals now within touching distance, we thought we’d dive into the treasure trove of Spain shirts our collectors have uploaded recently after covering our favourite France shirts yesterday.
Our temptation, as always, is to look back to the 1990s, which wasn’t necessarily a great era for the Spanish national team, but which delivered some brilliant shirts. Spain’s long-running association with Adidas - one of the longest-running partnerships in international football - dates back to 1991. Before that, however, there were some top-tier Le Coq Sportif shirts adorning La Roja. One of them can be seen here.
For now, though, it’s time to look at the five incredible Spain shirts on Showboat that we’ve handpicked from our collectors for this article. They’re enough to make you want them to beat France tomorrow night. Maybe.
5. Spain - 2026/27 - Away Shirt
We didn’t expect to include a shirt released only a few months ago, but this one makes the list for a number of reasons. Firstly, the colour scheme and intricate pattern are beautiful. It’s an objectively gorgeous shirt.
It also comes with the added distinction of having been uploaded by the player who wore it. Spain striker Borja Iglesias joined Showboat recently and has begun uploading his match-worn collection. This is one of several Spain shirts now on the platform. We valued it at around £525 but, in truth, it’s difficult to imagine him ever parting with it. He included these collector’s notes:
“This is one of the shirts I have worn for the Spanish national team. During the international break in March 2026, at RCD Espanyol’s stadium, against the Egypt national team. Final score: 0–0.”
4. Spain - 1996/98 - Away Shirt
This shirt represented something of an outlier for Spain at the time, in the sense that their home and away shirts shared the same design, differing only in colour. Their third shirt, by contrast, broke away completely, adopting a classic early 90s Adidas template. It evokes the kind of shirts we saw at the 1994 World Cup. It’s a tidy number, increasingly rare, and we value it at around the £150 mark.
3. Spain - 2006/07 - Home Shirt
Now, this shirt hasn’t made it to number one because of the design. That’s it. For every other reason, it would be sitting comfortably at the top of the list. In fact, we’d give up just about anything to own it.
A match-worn shirt from the greatest midfielder of his generation: Andrés Iniesta. Like hearing a track from a band in their infancy and knowing they’re destined for greatness (Bloc Party, in our case), we knew Iniesta was special almost immediately. We’ve been telling every man and his dog that he was better than Zidane ever since.
We settled on a lofty valuation for this one but, in truth, it’s probably still undervalued. Such is Iniesta’s greatness. £4,500.
2. Spain - 1982/83 - Home Shirt
We’re quickly beginning to think Spain might have been on a hot streak in the 80s. Could we name a single player from that era? Unlikely, if we’re honest. But who cares when the clobber is this good? This one belonged to Ricardo Gallego, who Wikipedia describes as a “nuclear defensive player”, which is good enough for us. An 80s Rodri, without all the rolling around on the floor, we’d like to think.
The shirt itself was incredibly modern for the time and proved quite controversial. Spain had briefly experimented with the three stripes in 1981, but never in a way as arresting as this. They never looked back, thankfully. We’ve put a £775 price tag on it.
1. Spain - 1988/90 - Home Shirt
Shirts like this are, quite simply, the reason we wanted to create Showboat. They get our juices flowing. We mean stylistically, of course. But they also remind us that some things deserve to be documented and treasured. Designed by Le Coq Sportif, it features a blinding V-neck collar with an orange accent. A subtle jacquard pattern weaves through the fabric, adding even more texture to the shirt. It’s a wonderful piece. Putting a number on it feels a little shabby, but that’s the world we live in. Our team reckon this match-issued shirt is worth around £775.
