Showboaters: This Week's Best Uploads

Our Top 5 shirts added to the app this week.

Uruguay (Home Jersey) - 2002
This one just screams Alvaro Recoba before you even see the number. It's a shirt entwined with arguably Uruguay's most iconic footballer. Made by the little known L-Sporto, this one is in immaculate condition. Our team value this at £165.

Leicester City (Home Jersey) - 1996

This is as achingly 90s Premier League as it gets. A match-worn Matt Elliot shirt from the Filbert Street days, long before Leicester's trophy glut of the 00s. Everything from the collar, the Walkers Crisps sponsor, the Premier League badges and even the in-house manufacturer jump off the shirt here. A cracking addition to the Showboat app.

Cameroon (Away Jersey) - 2002

An infamous, iconic shirt we're buzzing to have on Showboat. This sleeveless number caused a stir when it was released in 2002 and swiftly banned by FIFA which only made it even more popular amongst collectors. To circumvent the rules, Puma added black cloth to where the sleeves should have been on the original. This one, though, appears as intended. Our team think it's worth around £160. That's almost three times it's original price.

SC Corinthians Paulista (Third Jersey) - 2022

We've gone for a quite recent release here but it's a shirt we'd not seen before and one that comes with a unusual story. Ten years later, Brazilian side Corinthians pay homage to their own 2012 Club World Cup final win over Chelsea in Japan. The Japanese script across the front and sleeves translates to "This is Corinthians". We value this around £120. More than double its original price.

Japan (Home Jersey) - 1994
A showstopper of an international jersey but one that never got the airing it deserved after Japan narrowly failed to qualify for the 1994 World Cup. Japan led Iraq in an eliminator in Doha going into the final seconds before a heartbreaking equaliser and a game that would forever be remembered in Japan as ドーハの悲劇 / Dōha no higeki - "The Agony of Doha." Still, the shirt speaks for itself regardless of its history. It's a grail for most collectors and a shirt that's been counterfeited as much as any other. Our team put an estimate of this at £210 but don't be surprised to see it change hands for more.
