Showboaters: The Best Weekly Shirt Uploads

We spotlight our favourite shirts uploaded to Showboat over the past seven days.

Ajax (Third Jersey) - 1979
'They don't make shirts like this anymore,' were the first words out of our mouths when we saw this. An impeccable shirt in excellent condition considering it's now in its fifth decade. This one genuinely looks like it belongs in a museum. Our team had a hard time valuating this one but settled on £700. To think there's Arsenal shirts going for that from a years back. What a world.

Fortuna Düsseldorf (Home Jersey) - 1985

We couldn't get over the Arag sponsor on this - one of those sponsors you forget existed and convince yourself it must have only been for a season before realising it was a decade. There's a version of this in long sleeves that is about as good as it gets but this short sleeved version isn't far off. We valued this around £260.

Cambridge (Away Jersey) - 1991

This gets the nod for the simple fact it's manufactured by the little known brand, Influence. Around in the late 80s and early 90s, Influence are probably best known for the Portsmouth shirt they made with the Goodmans sponsor in 1991. This shirt isn't too far removed from that, using a strikingly similar pattern with a darker colour. The Fujitsu sponsor tips this one over the edge. A cracking shirt that feels distinctly English. We valued this at £225.

Scotland - 1988

One of the most bootlegged shirts in all of Scotland appeared on Showboat this week in all its glory. Never worn in a game and more of a piece of a leisurewear to some, this shirt sums up what makes football shirts great for us. Bonkers colour scheme, achingly 80s design, dismissed at the time and now widely adored. £225 we reckon.

Murcia (Home Jersey) - 1996
Now this is a corker. In our eyes Kelme did no wrong in the 90s. Great shirts, great goalkeeper gloves, great football boots. In fact, you knew anyone rocking up in Kelme's clobber when you were growing up was a serious player. They just oozed quality as a brand. This shirt is one of the most underrated in Spanish history for us. We valued it around £160. Worth every penny.
