Showboat: Shirt Upload Guidelines

Help make Showboat the go-to place for serious shirt collectors worldwide.

At Showboat, we’re building a unique football shirt collecting space - a place where shirts are celebrated, authenticated, and valued as collectibles. To keep our community consistent and easy to browse, we ask all users to follow these simple photo guidelines when uploading shirts.

✅ Do: Upload Just the Shirt

  • Lay your shirt flat or hang it up.
  • Make sure the entire shirt is visible (front or back depending on what you want to show).
  • Use a neutral background (plain wall, floor, or a simple backdrop).
  • Take the photo in good lighting so colours and details are clear.
  • Keep the photo sharp and straight on - avoid angled or cropped shots.
📸 A great example of how we'd want shirts displayed on Showboat.

❌ Try Not To: Upload Photos of Yourself Wearing the Shirt

  • No selfies, mirror shots, or lifestyle photos.
  • No group shots, pets, or distractions in the background.
  • No edits, stickers, or filters.

We love seeing football culture everywhere, but Showboat is all about the shirt itself, not the person wearing it.

Why This Matters

  • Authentication: It’s much easier for us to verify details when the shirt is clearly shown.
  • Valuation: Uniform photos allow us to give more accurate pricing and rarity insights.
  • Collectors’ Space: We want Showboat to feel like a true archive, not just another social feed.
📸 The collector lets the shirt speak for itself.

Pro Tips

  • Use the same background for every upload to build a consistent collection.
  • If your shirt has special features (badges, tags, details), add close-up shots too.
  • Natural daylight usually works best for showing true colours.

✨ By following these guidelines, you’re helping make Showboat the go-to place for serious shirt collectors worldwide.

📸 If you don't have wall-space this is ideal.

Coming Soon...

We're always working to improve the user experience at Showboat HQ and we want collectors to be able to add multiple images of any given shirt. So, for now, the lead image would be the shirt itself. In the near future you'll be able to edit your collection and add further images of the shirt - front, back, and maybe even one of you wearing it!

We're thrilled to have you on board and have been blown away by the incredible collections you all have put together. We can't wait to see more.

Team Showboat.
